Corporate Communications

Fossil Group Sustainability Report

As part of the Corporate Communications course in my certificate program at BCIT, I created a professionally designed sustainability report for Fossil Group—a globally recognized fashion and lifestyle company. The goal of this project was to communicate Fossil’s environmental and social impact initiatives through a well-researched, strategically designed report that reflects both their brand identity and corporate values.

The process began with in-depth research into the company’s history, brand mission, product offerings, financials, and sustainability efforts. I then translated my findings into a mind map to identify key themes and structure the report’s content strategy. From there, I developed a detailed design brief outlining the purpose, target audiences, and core message of the report. The final document was crafted to inform stakeholders and attract like-minded investors by highlighting Fossil’s commitment to ethical practices and sustainable innovation.

The report was designed using Fossil’s existing brand guidelines, with a layout focused on clarity, storytelling, and data visualization. It balanced informative content with engaging visuals, ensuring accessibility and brand consistency throughout.

Company Choice

I selected Fossil Group for this project because of their growing investment in sustainability and their strong brand presence in the global fashion market. Fossil’s dedication to reducing environmental impact and creating ethically responsible products made them an ideal subject for this report. As a brand that aligns with my personal values and design interests, Fossil also represents the type of company I would aspire to work with in the future.

The report was designed using Fossil’s existing brand guidelines, with a layout focused on clarity, storytelling, and data visualization. It balanced informative content with engaging visuals, ensuring accessibility and brand consistency throughout.

Design Brief

The final design brief was formatted as a polished, professional document that aligned visually with Fossil’s brand identity. This document served as the foundation for the full sustainability report design.

Mind Map

A mind map was developed to visually organize all research findings. This tool helped identify relationships between Fossil’s brand values, sustainability efforts, product strategy, and audience engagement. Key themes such as transparency, innovation, eco-conscious materials, and global impact emerged and informed the report’s content structure and visual tone.

Mood Boards

To explore visual direction for the Fossil Group Sustainability Report, I created two contrasting mood boards. Each board featured a curated color palette, typography styles, iconography, layout samples, and imagery—designed within a clean grid format. Both concepts aligned with Fossil’s brand identity and were tailored for a professional client presentation.

Postcard Design

As a supporting piece for the Fossil Group Sustainability Report, I designed a double-sided postcard to communicate the report’s core message in a visually impactful and concise format. This exercise focused on transforming complex ideas into clear, targeted messaging for a specific audience.

The design incorporated a strong headline, compelling imagery, and a clear call to action—while maintaining brand consistency through Fossil’s typography, color palette, and logo. The postcard was tailored for professional print production and designed to drive engagement through QR codes.

Brand Touch points

As part of the Fossil Group Sustainability Report project, I created two supporting brand touch points: a gift card and a Specsavers glasses case. These collateral pieces extended the report’s visual style and core message, reinforcing brand consistency across different audience interactions.
